**Delrin Key Properties:** (1) High crystallinity, opaque white pellets with very high rigidity and hardness; (2) Second only to nylon in wear resistance and self-lubricating properties (but more cost-effective than nylon), with good toughness and minimal impact from temperature and humidity; (3) Better resistance to repeated impacts compared to PC and ABS; (4) The best fatigue resistance among all plastics. **General Injection Molding Process Points for POM:** (1) Crystalline plastic, generally does not require drying or only short-term drying (100°C, 1-2 hours); (2) Moderate flowability, injection speed should be medium to high; (3) Temperature control: material temperature: 170-220°C, note that material temperature should not be too high, as temperatures above 240°C can cause decomposition of formaldehyde monomers (material color darkens), degrading part performance and corroding the mold cavity. Mold temperature: 80-100°C, use heat transfer oil for control; (4) Pressure parameters: injection pressure 100 MPa, backpressure 0.5 MPa. Higher injection pressures are recommended due to sensitivity to shear rate. Relying solely on increasing material temperature to improve flowability can be detrimental; (5) POM has a large shrinkage rate (2-2.5%), prolonging holding pressure time can help reduce shrinkage issues; (6) For mold design: POM is highly elastic, allowing shallow side cavities to be ejected forcefully. Large gate runners are preferred for better flow. **Processing Characteristics of Delrin:** (1) POM does not require pre-drying but can benefit from preheating (around 80°C) for improved dimensional stability; (2) POM has a narrow processing temperature range (up to 215°C). Extended residence time in the barrel or temperatures exceeding 220°C can lead to decomposition, producing strong irritant formaldehyde gas; (3) Hold pressure during injection molding should be relatively high (similar to injection pressure) to minimize pressure drop. Screw speed should not be too high, and residual material should be minimized; (4) POM has a high shrinkage rate, making it prone to shrinkage or deformation. Due to its high specific heat capacity and high mold temperature (80-100°C), parts will be very hot when ejected, so handle with care to avoid burns; (5) POM is best processed under conditions of "medium pressure, medium speed, low material temperature, higher mold temperature." Precise parts require controlled mold temperature; (6) High mechanical strength and rigidity; (7) Excellent fatigue strength; (8) Good environmental resistance and solvent resistance; (9) Strong resistance to repeated impacts, excellent electrical properties, good recovery, self-lubricating, wear-resistant, and dimensionally stable.
