Performance Features of Glass Fiber Pultruded Profiles
1. Corrosion Resistance
Pultruded profiles have excellent corrosion resistance, capable of withstanding various gases and liquids such as acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and salts. Depending on the actual use environment, types of medium, and temperature requirements, options include isothermal, interval, and vinyl types. Refer to the corrosion resistance performance table for pultruded profiles.
2. Lightweight and High Strength
The glass fiber content in pultruded profiles is higher than that in other composite material forming processes, resulting in a high longitudinal strength comparable to steel. The density of pultruded profiles is approximately one-fourth that of steel, making their strength-to-weight ratio significantly higher than steel. The modulus of pultruded profiles is lower than that of steel, typically only 1/7 to 1/10 of that of steel.
3. Aging Resistance
Pultruded profiles are made from thermosetting resins and glass fiber systems, differing from general thermoplastic materials. The normal service life of the product can reach 20 years. Adding UV stabilizers and using polyester fiber mats can achieve good aging resistance.
4. Easy Maintenance
Pultruded profiles are made by mixing pigments into the resin, allowing for color customization according to customer requirements. They are not prone to fading, require no paint maintenance, and have self-cleaning properties.
5. Excellent Electromagnetic Performance
