Many people are struggling with how to construct **permeable pavement**. Dumai Pavement introduces the construction steps for **permeable pavement**: 1. **Mixing:** The consistency of the cement slurry in the **permeable pavement** mixture is relatively high, and the quantity is small. In order for the cement slurry to uniformly wrap around the aggregate, it is advisable to use a forced mixer, with a mixing time of at least **5 minutes**. 2. **Pouring:** Before pouring, the roadbed must be moistened with water. Otherwise, the rapid loss of moisture from the **permeable pavement** will weaken the bonding strength between the aggregates. Since the mixture for **permeable pavement** is quite dry and hard, the mixed **permeable pavement** material should be spread evenly on the roadbed. 3. **Vibrating:** During the pouring process, strong vibration or compaction is not advisable. Generally, a plate vibrator is used to lightly vibrate the spread permeable concrete mixture, but care must be taken not to use a high-frequency vibrator, as it may overly densify the concrete and reduce porosity, affecting the permeability. Additionally, a high-frequency vibrator can cause the cement slurry to segregate from the coarse aggregate, flowing to the bottom and forming a non-permeable layer, which makes the material lose its permeability. 4. **Rolling:** After vibrating, further compaction of the permeable concrete mixture should be done using a solid steel pipe or a lightweight roller. Considering the consistency of the mixture and surrounding temperature, multiple passes may be needed. However, it is important to clean the roller before rolling to prevent sticking of the aggregates. 5. **Curing:** Due to the large number of pores in the **permeable pavement**, it is prone to moisture loss and dries quickly, making curing very important. Particularly during the early curing stage, it is essential to prevent significant evaporation of moisture from the pavement. Generally, the demolding time for permeable concrete is shorter than that for ordinary concrete; thus, its sides and edges will be exposed to air. Plastic film or tarpaulin should be used to cover the pavement and sides in a timely manner to ensure humidity and sufficient hydration of the cement. Curing with water should begin **1 day** after pouring the **permeable pavement**. When watering, avoid using a pressure spray directly on the concrete surface, as this can wash away some of the cement slurry, creating weaker areas. Instead, water can be poured directly from above in a normal manner. The watering curing time for **permeable pavement** should not be less than **7 days**.
