Epoxy Floor Coatings possess characteristics such as strong acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, pressure resistance, impact resistance, mildew resistance, waterproofing, dustproofing, slip resistance, as well as static electricity and electromagnetic wave protection. They come in bright and diverse colors, and are easy to clean. They use a one-coat application process, with no joints regardless of the area size, and are also a dust-free material with strong adhesion, wear resistance, and high hardness.
How to apply Epoxy Floor Coatings?
1, Substrate Preparation
Grind, repair, and clean the floor to ensure the substrate is free from hollow spots, cracks, sand holes, pits, peeling, and oil stains.
2, Epoxy Primer Application
Mix the epoxy resin penetrating sealer by proportionally combining the main agent and curing agent, stirring thoroughly, and then roll-coat within the usable time. The application should be thin and even, and any glossy areas should be supplemented at the appropriate time.
3, Epoxy Mortar Intermediate Coating
(1) Apply a coarse quartz mortar layer: First, mix the epoxy resin intermediate main agent thoroughly, then proportionally mix the main agent with the curing agent, stirring uniformly. When mixing, pour the curing agent into the center of the main agent's bucket to avoid uneven mixing. After stirring, add an appropriate amount of coarse quartz sand #4-6 for a scraping application to fill and level the substrate.
(2) Apply a fine quartz mortar layer: In the mixed epoxy resin intermediate, proportionally add an appropriate amount of fine quartz sand #6-8, also using a scraping knife to further enhance the pressure and impact resistance of the intermediate layer. Depending on the design thickness of the floor, multiple scraping applications can be repeated (1) (2) processes, and after the mortar intermediate layer has cured, grind and vacuum clean.
4, Epoxy Putty Intermediate Coating
First, mix the epoxy resin intermediate main agent thoroughly, then proportionally mix the main agent with the curing agent, stirring uniformly. After mixing, proportionally add quartz powder to fill and seal the sand holes and capillary pores, smoothing the substrate for a beautiful and flat epoxy surface coating application.
5, Epoxy Self-Leveling Top Coating
Mix the solvent-free epoxy resin self-leveling top coating main agent thoroughly, then proportionally mix the main agent with the curing agent, stirring uniformly. Pour the mixture onto the floor and use a specialized notched trowel for application, starting with the edges and corners, followed by a full trowel application. During the application, any sand particles or debris found should be promptly removed to avoid affecting the appearance.
Epoxy Floor Coatings have been widely applied in various industries since their introduction to China, playing a significant role in production for many enterprises due to their performance.
