About Us
Kuraray was founded in 1926 with the aim of commercializing advanced technologies into artificial silk. After World War II, we pioneered the commercialization of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers in the world in 1950, under the brand name KURALON™. It is Japan's first synthetic fiber invented, leading the early stages of Japan's synthetic fiber industry.
