Fiberglass reinforced sand pipes can resist long-term erosion from various acids, alkalis, salts, organic solvents, seawater, wastewater, and other chemical media. Different pipe performances can be selected based on the type of medium and operating temperature.
◎ Excellent Mechanical Properties
Fiberglass pipes have a low specific gravity (1.8~2.1g/cm³) and high strength (≥300MPa), with a specific strength far greater than that of steel pipes and cast iron pipes. The addition of resin mortar to the middle layer of the pipe wall significantly improves the pipe's stiffness, making it suitable for installation in various soil environments and underwater.
◎ Superior Hydraulic Performance
The inner surface of fiberglass pipes is very smooth, with low friction resistance (n≤0.0084), which can significantly reduce pressure loss along the flow and increase flow rate. Under the same flow conditions, smaller pipe diameters or lower power pumps can be selected, thereby reducing initial project costs and saving energy (lowering operating costs).
◎ Good Designability and Wide Applicability
The pipes can be manufactured to different pressure ratings and special performances by changing materials, winding angles, and layering designs to meet different working pressure, medium, and stiffness (or burial depth) requirements.
◎ Pollution Resistant and Non-toxic
The smooth inner wall does not accumulate scale or breed algae and other microorganisms, preventing secondary pollution of water quality. Pipes made with food-grade resin can be used for drinking water transportation.
◎ Fewer Joints and Good Sealing
The length of a single fiberglass reinforced sand pipe is generally 12 meters, using double “O” ring socket connections. Each joint can be pressure tested, ensuring reliable sealing.
◎ Lightweight and Easy to Transport and Install
The weight of fiberglass reinforced sand pipes is only 1/4 that of the same specification and length of ductile iron pipes and 1/10 that of cement pipes. They are easy to transport and unload, with high installation efficiency and low costs.
