Electromagnetic brakes are connectors that transmit the torque from the active side to the passive side. They can be freely engaged, disengaged, or braked as needed, using electromagnetic force for actuation. Referred to as electromagnetic clutches and brakes, they have advantages such as fast response and simple structure. They are mechanical components that stop or decelerate moving parts in machinery, commonly known as brakes or stops. A brake mainly consists of a brake frame, braking components, and a control device. Some brakes are also equipped with automatic adjustment devices for the clearance of the braking components. To reduce braking torque and structural size, brakes are typically mounted on the high-speed shaft of the equipment, but for large equipment that requires high safety (such as mine hoists, elevators, etc.), they should be installed on the low-speed shaft close to the working part of the equipment. Some brakes have been standardized and serialized, and are manufactured by specialized factories for selection.
