Geotextiles that may be exposed for a long time should be welded or sewn. 2.3 Sewing of geotextile All sewing must be continuous (e.g., spot sewing is not allowed). Before overlapping, the geotextiles must overlap by at least 150mm. The distance from the small sewing needle to the woven edge (the exposed edge of the material) must be at least 25mm. The sewn geotextile seams must include a row of lockstitch chain stitching. The thread used for sewing should be a resin material with a small tension exceeding 60N, and should have chemical corrosion resistance and UV resistance equal to or exceeding that of the geotextile. Any "missing stitch" on the sewn geotextile must be re-sewn at the affected area. Appropriate measures must be taken to prevent soil, particulate matter, or foreign substances from entering the geotextile layer after installation.
