ZF EMB Production Line Project to Land in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone
On the evening of March 11, Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone announced that ZF's EMB production line project will be located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone. During a symposium held that day,Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zonewith ZFThey have reached a consensus to jointly promote the accelerated implementation of projects such as the EMB production line, on the basis of consolidating their good cooperation.

As a long-term partner of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, ZF has been continuously expanding its presence here since 2011, making multiple additional investments to deepen local development.
In October 2025, ZF Automotive Systems' new factory in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone was officially launched, further expanding its production capacity in Wuhan. The new factory has further increased the production capacity of Electronic Parking Brake Calipers (EPB).

This system achieves parking brake through electronic control, offering significant advantages in safety and convenience over traditional mechanical manual methods. Since ZF first launched this technology globally in 1999, integrating the motor and caliper, the EPB system was localized for production in China in 2007. It has since evolved to the sixth generation, becoming a landmark achievement in the field of intelligent mechanical systems.
At that time, ZF revealed that in the future, the new factory would introduce the next-generation Electro-Mechanical Brake (EMB) production line, which is a key component of the brake-by-wire system. This advanced vehicle braking technology integrates the dual advantages of electric drive and mechanical braking, achieving more efficient, precise, and sensitive braking performance.
The implementation of the EMB production line is a significant move by ZF to deepen its presence in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone and further invest in the Chinese market. It will also inject new momentum into the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone's efforts to build a major national automotive industry base and create an innovative industrial corridor in the Vehicle Valley, promoting the local automotive industry's deep advancement towards intelligence and electrification.
