Toyota Remains Strong! 11.3 Million Vehicles Sold in 2025, Six Consecutive Years as Global Leader
January 29 news: Toyota Group officially announced its 2024 global sales data today, reaching 11.32 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, setting a new historical record!
With this figure, Toyota has topped the global automakers' sales rankings for the sixth consecutive year, widening its lead over second-placed Volkswagen Group to approximately 1.5 million units.
By brand, Toyota and Lexus sold a combined 10.5 million vehicles, while Daihatsu sold approximately 700,000 units and Hino around 120,000 units.
As for best-selling countries and regions, sales are strong in the North American market, with hybrid models accounting for over 50%, and models such as the RAV4 and Camry Hybrid continuing to be popular.
Sold 1.78 million units in China, the only Japanese brand to achieve positive growth, and record sales of 1.229 million units in Europe, with electrified vehicles accounting for 77%.
It is worth mentioning that Toyota's popularity is due in part to its comprehensive product matrix, covering everything from microcars (Daihatsu) to luxury cars (Lexus), from family sedans (Corolla) to rugged off-roaders (Land Cruiser), meeting all scenario demands.
On the other hand, hybrid vehicles are highly popular, serving as a key transition from gasoline to electrification, accounting for a significant 46.2% last year and being the core driver of Toyota's sales growth.
Toyota's THS hybrid system, with 25 years of iteration, boasts industry-leading technological maturity, offering low fuel consumption, high reliability, and strong resale value. It doesn't rely on charging infrastructure and perfectly adapts to global market demands.
