The market share of domestic brands has rebounded, and the small-car market has shown a counter-cyclical recovery.
In February, affected by factors such as the Spring Festival holiday and the reduction in subsidies for new energy vehicles, the sales of the domestic car market continued to decline month-on-month. According to the list, there was a "universal decline" trend, with only a few models experiencing a counter-trend increase in sales, and the vast majority showing a year-on-year decline. Among them, the GAC Honda Accord saw the largest decline, with a month-on-month decrease of 66.5%, reaching the lowest sales point in nearly five years. In addition, the Dongfeng Nissan Sylphy and the FAW Toyota Avalon also experienced significant declines, with month-on-month decreases exceeding 60%.
Among the models on the sales chart showing month-over-month growth, the Tesla Model 3 stands out most prominently, with sales surging more than 6.8-fold to surpass 10,000 units. Additionally, the BYD Seagull 06 also delivered a strong performance, with sales rising 16.6% compared to January, signaling a gradual market recovery.

This month, the sales proportion of domestic brands rebounded, increasing by 9.4 percentage points compared to January, regaining the top position. In contrast, although the sales proportion of German brands declined slightly, it still led Japanese and American brands significantly, forming a "two-horse race" with domestic brands. In comparison, the sales proportion of Japanese brands shrank noticeably, decreasing by 7.5 percentage points month-on-month, and the number of models on the list also decreased compared to January. Meanwhile, Korean, French, and other European brand models remained off the list.

In February, sales of small cars rebounded against the trend, rising 27.5% month-on-month and surpassing those of mid-to-large-sized cars to rank third. In contrast, sales of other sedan models all declined significantly month-on-month, particularly mid-to-large-sized cars, whose sales dropped by as much as 42.1% from January.
Quality issues dominate complaints, with "transmission control module failure" emerging as a new hotspot.
In line with sales trends, the majority of models on this month’s ranking saw a decline in complaint volumes. The Wuling Bingo S continued its strong performance from last month, achieving zero complaints this month—a short-term reputation achievement worth recognizing. Close behind is the BYD Dolphin, whose complaint volume dropped to single digits, representing an 86.2% month-over-month decrease. Additionally, the Geely Xingyuan, Geely Xingrui, and Hongguang MINIEV also performed well, each recording complaint reductions exceeding 60%. In contrast, only two models on this month’s ranking reported a month-over-month increase in complaints.

From the perspective of complaint type proportions in February, quality-related complaints continued their upward trend, increasing by 5.9 percentage points compared to January and remaining the dominant category of complaints. Regarding specific fault points, “lamp housing cracks or deformation” rose to the top position; although the number of complaints declined slightly month-on-month, it remained the primary focus of consumer complaints this month. “Transmission control module failure” emerged as a new growth area for complaints this month, with the number of reported faults rising by 16% month-on-month and its ranking climbing to third place. Meanwhile, complaints related to service issues, other issues, and comprehensive issues all declined significantly.
The complaint-to-sales ratio of 26 models performs better than peers in the same segment.
According to the complaint-to-sales ratio statistical rules of CheZhi.com, the number of complaints for a model includes all valid complaints of the month (including those that were properly resolved and the complainant voluntarily applied for withdrawal). According to statistics, the average complaint-to-sales ratio for sedans this month is 90 per 10,000, which is a significant decrease compared to January, indicating an overall improvement in the complaint-to-sales ratio performance.
Among the list, 26 models have a complaint-to-sales ratio lower than the February sedan average, with fuel vehicles making up the majority. Among them, 16 models showed a decline in the complaint-to-sales ratio compared to January, showing improvement from the previous month.
