SE-EV-S Injection Molding Machine Introduces New Features for Greater Sustainability, Efficiency, and Safety
In the rapidly developing field of injection molding, Sumitomo injection molding machines have always been at the core of innovation, responding to the global call for sustainable development. Our flagship model, the SE-EV-S series, not only has been upgraded, setting a new benchmark in performance, but now also introduces three key improvements—ranging from environmental friendliness to waste reduction, and on to the protection of both machines and personnel. These upgrades not only continue the machine's reliability but also integrate the concept of green intelligence, helping businesses move towards a more efficient and low-carbon future.

Anti-stringing screw: Prevents stringing
To improve the cooling performance at the front end of the nozzle, the Sumitomo injection molding machine's anti-stringing nozzle has grooves on the outer periphery and a special internal shape, which helps to improve the problem of stringing.
The design takes into account the heat absorption of the mold sprue bushing and the balance with the nozzle-side heater, allowing the thermocouple position to be adjusted—not only making it widely suitable for various resins but also enabling customization as needed.
Sumitomo’s anti-stringing nozzle for injection molding machines reduces defective products, thereby lowering production costs and improving production efficiency. Stable production helps earn customer trust and prevents loss of orders due to quality issues.

02, Measurement Stability
For high-volume injection molding of LCP materials, commonly used in connector components, Sumitomo's XV screw (Expanded Volume Screw) is designed to prevent unexpected fluctuations in metering time that cause machine stoppages, thereby enhancing mass production efficiency.
Low viscosity LCP resins have high flowability, and during the melting process, the solid resin tends to slide inside the barrel, creating gaps that lead to unstable metering times. The XV screw is specifically designed to address this "sliding," with a design that inhibits the occurrence of sliding and allows for stable transportation.

03. Reduce mixing defects
Inconsistent product color is due to insufficient mixing of the resin, which results in the uneven dispersion of the colorant. Sumitomo has addressed this issue by introducing a high-mixing screw that emphasizes mixing performance. This screw features a secondary thread, which is slightly smaller than the main thread. The shear force generated when the resin passes through the secondary thread further enhances the mixing effect. Additionally, the front end of the screw is designed with a high-mixing shape, using the same principle as the secondary thread. Through the synergistic effect of both, the mixing effect of the resin is significantly improved, the colorant is evenly dispersed, and color variations are greatly reduced.

Labor-saving and manpower-saving features
01, MCM Guidance: Labor-saving
In the injection molding process, when the clamping force is too high, it can cause defects such as burn marks and short shots, while also causing mold damage and increasing power consumption. Therefore, the MCM guidance function should be used to gradually reduce the clamping force by a certain amount, adjusting it to the optimal clamping force. This function can fully utilize the mold's venting function, reduce maintenance and, and extend the mold life.

02. Remote confirmation function for auxiliary equipment screen
By importing VNC software into the injection molding machine, peripheral equipment, and handheld PC, and connecting them through the network, you can view the operation screen of the peripheral equipment on the handheld PC, check the operation status at any time, and adjust the operation settings.
This feature reduces the time managers spend traveling to auxiliary machines for inspection, facilitates operations on the inaccessible reverse side, and enables remote operation without entering hazardous safety guard zones, significantly enhancing operator safety.

03, Remote confirmation function for injection molding machine screen: Labor-saving, labor reduction
After importing VNC software into the injection molding machine and handheld PC, and connecting through the network, the real-time image of the injection molding machine can be displayed on the PC to confirm the operating status. Additionally, remote operation and setting modifications can be performed through the PC.
The mechanical actions such as mold opening/closing and ejector pins cannot be operated remotely.
As the operational status can be confirmed in the office, this can reduce the number of on-site visits, save travel time, and the time needed to change into cleanroom suits.
In the event of a failure, the injection molding machine's interface can be remotely viewed to assess the situation, provide accurate instructions, and quickly resolve the issue.
