Major! Two Industry Standards for Silicon-Carbon Anode Materials Officially Released, Effective March 1
Dear colleagues in the new energy materials industry and friends who are interested in the development of battery technology:
Recently, the China Electronic Energy Conservation Technology Association officially released two group standards: "Technical Specification for Production Process of Silicon-Carbon Anode Materials" (T/DZJN 517-2026) and "Technical Specification for Energy-Saving Processes of Silicon-Carbon Anode Materials" (T/DZJN 518-2026), establishing clear technical pathways for the standardized and efficient development of silicon-carbon anode materials.
Standard core information
According to the "Management Measures for Group Standards of the China Electronic Energy Saving Technology Association," on February 25, 2026, the association completed the review of two standards and officially approved them. They will be implemented starting March 1, 2026. The specific information is as follows:

Industry Significance of the Introduction of Standards
Silicon-carbon anode materials, as one of the core materials for next-generation lithium-ion batteries, have become a critical technology direction for new-energy vehicles and energy storage systems, owing to their high specific capacity. However, for a long time, the industry has lacked unified standards for production processes and energy-saving technologies, resulting in inconsistent product quality and high energy consumption during manufacturing—thus constraining high-quality industrial development.
The two standards released this time will empower the industry from two key dimensions:
-
Standardizing the Entire Production Process: The “Technical Specification for Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Production Process” defines process requirements across the full chain—from raw material preparation to final product testing—ensuring product quality stability and consistency, thereby enhancing enterprises’ core competitiveness.
-
Promoting green and energy-saving transformation: The "Technical Specification for Energy-saving Processes of Silicon-Carbon Negative Electrode Materials" focuses on energy consumption optimization in the production process, providing enterprises with energy-saving technology routes and indicators, helping to reduce costs and improve efficiency, and practicing the "dual carbon" goals.
The implementation of these two standards not only provides silicon-carbon anode material enterprises with clear technical guidance but also establishes a significant benchmark for upgrading China’s new-energy materials industry toward high-end, intelligent, and green development, thereby promoting coordinated development across the upstream and downstream industrial chain.
