Largest in China! Carbonate Ester Integration Unit Successfully Commissioned
Recently, the 410,000 tons/year carbonate integrated unit of Fujian Baihong Chemical Co., Ltd., designed by Guangzhou Engineering Company, successfully started up on its first attempt and produced qualified products.

The 410,000-ton/year carbonate joint unit is the main core production unit of Baihong Chemical's new material project, mainly including a 50,000-ton/year ethylene carbonate unit, a 140,000-ton/year propylene carbonate unit, a 100,000-ton/year dimethyl carbonate unit, a 120,000-ton/year methyl ethyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate unit, an ethanol dehydration unit, and supporting auxiliary system units. The main products of the unit are high-purity lithium-ion battery electrolytes, including ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, methyl ethyl carbonate, and diethyl carbonate, as well as the production of some chemical raw materials, industrial solvents, and green chemicals.

Guangzhou Engineering Company actively implements the national "dual carbon" strategy, upholds the concept of integrity and innovation, and comprehensively promotes green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. Facing challenges such as large-scale facilities, complex process flows, and numerous equipment, the company fully leverages its rich experience in engineering design, actively strengthens communication with owners and licensors, closely coordinates inter-disciplinary communication and collaboration, optimizes the process flow of each unit, and innovatively proposes a "three-dimensional and integrated" spatial design approach. This significantly improves the utilization efficiency of the plant area, laying a solid foundation for the successful completion and commissioning of the facilities and achieving "safe, stable, long-term, full, and optimal" operation.
The successful commissioning of this unit marks another large-scale industrial application for domestic carbonate plants, further increasing the market supply of high-quality electrolyte solvents. This provides a solid material foundation for the sustained, healthy, and rapid development of the new energy vehicle and energy storage industries, and holds significant strategic importance.
