Vimar Launches Linea Switch Range Using Envalior Recycled Material, Cutting Carbon Footprint by Over 80%

Vimar SpA, a multinational company headquartered in Marostica, Italy, specializing in sustainable electrical wiring devices and smart home solutions, has recently launched its new Linea series of wiring products. This series further reduces environmental impact while maintaining stylish design and cutting-edge technology.

The installation frame of the Linea series switches is injection molded using Durethan Blue BKV60H2.0EF material, which is a polyamide 6 (PA6) material containing approximately 90% recycled content, supplied by Envalior.

The switch mounting frame uses Envalior's high-performance modified material Durethan Blue BKV60H2.0EF, a sustainable polyamide 6 material containing approximately 90% recycled content. Envalior states that with this modified material, combined with optimized production processes, upgraded product management systems, and sustainably certified packaging materials, the carbon footprint of Vimar's switch series is reduced by more than 80% compared to the previous traditional fossil-based solution, equivalent to reducing 500 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Compared to traditional fossil-based solutions, Vimar has successfully reduced the carbon footprint of this switch series by over 80%, resulting in an annual reduction of 500 tons of CO₂ emissions.

Regenerated fibers enhance sustainability

Over 97% of the plastic raw materials used in the Linea product range come from renewable and recycled sources and are certified under the ISCC Plus (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) mass balance system. The sustainable attributes of these raw materials are ISCC Plus certified, and Envalior’s production sites in Antwerp and Krefeld-Uerdingen have also received this certification.

This eco-friendly Durethan Blue material contains 60% by weight of recycled fiber, and the production process replaces a large amount of inorganic glass raw materials with industrial glass waste. In addition, the production of the polyamide 6 base material uses cyclohexane produced from bio-based, recycled bio-based, and/or chemical recycling sources.

High fluidity, low warpage characteristics

Despite the high glass fiber content, this high-performance material still exhibits excellent flowability, enabling precise replication of the delicate and thin geometric structure of the mounting frame. Meanwhile, the material has low warpage, and demonstrates excellent rigidity and strength.
