Trelleborg To Acquire Aerospace Thermoplastic Manufacturer Tri-Mack

Trelleborg Group has signed an agreement to acquire Tri-Mack Plastics Manufacturing Corp., headquartered in Bristol, Rhode Island, through its Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area.

Founded in 1974, Tri-Mack is an established supplier in the aerospace industry with expertise in high-performance thermoplastics and composites. The company’s facilities feature state-of-the-art, vertically integrated manufacturing operations and in-house tooling fabrication. Advanced automation and robotics technologies enable precision, consistent high quality, and efficient production.

The company's capabilities

Tri-Mack’s manufacturing capabilities include automated thermoplastic composite processing, injection molding, tool making, multi-axis machining, bonding, and assembly. In addition to aerospace applications, Tri-Mack also manufactures components and solutions for semiconductor equipment and industrial gas turbines. Sales in 2025 amounted to approximately SEK 300 million.

This acquisition provides Trelleborg with expertise in advanced thermoplastics and composites, while further strengthening the Group’s value proposition to its existing customers. Jürgen Bosch, President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, stated: “Tri-Mack operates in an attractive growth segment within the aerospace industry, where demand for thermoplastic composites is increasing, driven by the need for lower weight, shorter manufacturing cycles, and improved cost efficiency.”

Tri-Mack will serve as a significant addition to Trelleborg’s aerospace platform, which is being built through the prior acquisitions of Aero-Plastics and Magee Plastics. Together, the companies strengthen Trelleborg’s high-performance thermoplastic solutions for the aerospace industry. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.

Earlier this month, Trelleborg signed an agreement and completed the acquisition of Producta S.r.l., a leading manufacturer of advanced sealing solutions and extruded profiles for the building and construction industry, primarily operating in Italy and Greece. The company is headquartered in Montelupone, Italy.
