Stellantis Q3 Global Vehicle Shipments Expected to Increase by 13% Year-Over-Year
On October 10, Stellantis (which owns several brands including Jeep, Peugeot, Fiat, Opel, and Ram) stated in a press release that in the third quarter of this year, its global vehicle shipments are expected to increase by 13% year-on-year to 1.3 million units, mainly due to the introduction of new models in the European market and increased demand in the North American market. This data indicates that after experiencing several consecutive quarters of declining sales, Stellantis' business is gradually recovering.

Stellantis stated that in the third quarter of this year, its shipments in the North American market are expected to increase by 35% year-on-year, reaching 403,000 units. Part of the growth momentum comes from the launch of the Ram 1500 model equipped with a V8 engine, and it also benefits from the gradual normalization of inventory levels after production cuts last year.
Recent data shows that a series of initiatives implemented by Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa have begun to yield results. It is reported that Filosa took over Stellantis North America a year ago and was promoted to CEO in June of this year. His initiatives include the reintroduction of certain models like the Jeep Cherokee and the 8-cylinder RAM trucks. Additionally, sources indicate that Stellantis is planning to invest about $10 billion in the U.S. to refocus its efforts on the U.S. market, which is crucial to its profitability.
In the European market, thanks to the increased production capacity of four new compact models, Stellantis' shipments in the region are expected to grow by 8% year-on-year in the third quarter, reaching 534,000 units. It is reported that these four new models are the Citroën C3, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Frontera, and Fiat Grande Punto, which had not yet been put into production in the same period last year.
However, Stellantis also noted that demand for its light commercial vehicles in the European market is relatively weak, and its shipments in some core European countries declined in the third quarter of this year, which has partially offset the growth of the four new models in the European market.
Meanwhile, Stellantis' shipments in the South American market for the third quarter of this year are expected to decrease by 3% year-on-year to 252,000 units. Stellantis stated that the reason for the decline is the high base in the same period last year—at that time, the company completed previously delayed order deliveries following the flood disaster in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, which boosted the figures for the same period last year.
Stellantis is reportedly planning to announce its final data on shipments and revenue for the third quarter of this year on October 30th.
