Recently, the Qingdao Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau officially approved the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for Qingdao Sailun Tire Co., Ltd.’s “Annual Production of 12.6 Million High-Performance Radial Tires Project.” The project is located in the Qingdao Dongjiakou Chemical Industry Park, with a total investment of RMB 2.34 billion, including RMB 12 million allocated for environmental protection. The project covers an area of approximately 21.91 hectares (equivalent to 328.65 mu).

Currently, the factory site is constructing the "500,000-ton-per-year Functional New Materials Project (Phase I: 350,000 tons)." The newly approved radial tire project will directly utilize the rubber raw materials produced by this new materials project, achieving vertical integration between upstream and downstream operations. The project will mainly construct a 12-million-unit radial tire workshop, a 600,000-unit radial tire workshop, two integrated workshops, and one 110kV substation, adding over 1,000 units (sets) of equipment including calenders, cutters, building machines, and vulcanizing presses.

In terms of production processes, using ingredients such as masterbatch rubber, steel cord, fabric ply, and bead wire, the facility undergoes calendering, extrusion, curing, and quality inspection to achieve an annual production capacity of 12.6 million high-performance radial tires.

In terms of exhaust gas treatment, the exhaust gas from 12 million sets of workshop calendaring and extrusion is collected under negative pressure and treated using "emulsion absorption + dry filtration + activated carbon adsorption (two sets of activated carbon in parallel)" before being discharged through a 18-meter high exhaust stack; the vulcanization workshop is divided into seven areas, with three systems handling the exhaust gases, which are then discharged through three 18-meter high exhaust stacks. The exhaust gas from the calendaring and vulcanization of 600,000 sets of workshops is collected by a hood, treated through a set of "emulsion absorption + dry filtration + activated carbon adsorption" equipment, and then discharged through an 18-meter high exhaust stack.

Currently, China’s tire industry is accelerating its transformation toward high-end and green development, with leading enterprises rapidly expanding integrated production capacity. Sailun’s self-built new materials project ensures raw material supply, helping to reduce reliance on external procurement and mitigate risks associated with cost volatility, thereby enhancing its competitiveness across the entire industrial chain. The project’s location in the Dongjia Kou Chemical Industry Park also fosters a cluster effect between rubber new materials and high-end tire manufacturing, further solidifying Shandong Province’s position as China’s core tire production hub.
