According to Reuters, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce will hold a vote on a bipartisan bill on July 15, which aims to strengthen federal restrictions barring Chinese automakers from accessing the U.S. market. Co-sponsored in April this year by Republican Senator Bernie Moreno of Ohio and Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, the legislation codifies the existing administrative restrictions rolled out by the Biden administration into federal law. Current rules effectively impose a blanket ban on passenger vehicle sales by Chinese automakers in the United States, alongside a raft of additional curbs to exclude Chinese brands from the country’s light-duty vehicle segment.

3. Sweden’s Duni Group Rolls Out Mono-Material PP Packaging Solutions for Takeaway, Ready-to-Eat Meals and Commercial Catering

Swedish firm Duni Group announced that its Duniform brand has fully launched mono-material polypropylene (PP) packaging solutions across its entire product range for takeaway food, ready-to-eat meals and commercial catering applications. The new offerings deliver better compatibility with established recycling infrastructures.
This new packaging line cuts the dosage of additives and fillers, representing a core milestone in the group’s long-term R&D strategy focused on recyclable packaging. The solutions are designed to comply with increasingly stringent regulatory standards, notably the EU’s upcoming Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste (PPWR).

  1. Custom Masterbatches Adapted to Performance Fluctuations of Recycled Plastics: New Grafi Products Launched Grandly
The properties of recycled polymers can hardly match those of virgin plastics. Post-industrial and post-consumer recycled materials feature inconsistent base hues and volatile processing performance, affected by raw material sources, sorting processes and previous processing history.
Headquartered in Blankenhain, Germany, GRAFE has launched its new masterbatch brand CYCOLEN®. Instead of being developed based on generic recycled material benchmarks, this product line is custom-formulated according to customers’ own recycled polymers.

    6. Borouge International and Amylum Systems Korea Co-Develop Heat-Resistant Mono-Material Instant Noodle Bowls

    博禄国际与Amylum Systems Korea联合开发耐高温单一材料泡面碗

In South Korea, conventional instant noodle bowls are mostly made of coated paper or polystyrene, both of which are difficult to recycle. Under South Korea’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, recyclability of packaging is a top priority, with a tiered system in place that prioritizes materials which are easy to sort and recycle.
Against this backdrop, Borouge International has partnered with Amylum Systems Korea to develop a lightweight mono-material packaging solution tailored to these stringent requirements: a brand-new thermally insulated foamed polypropylene (PP) bowl. The mono-material design eliminates the challenge of separating multi-material structures and greatly boosts recyclability. This solution not only meets strict
