Massive Suspension of Sailings! Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd Adjust 2026 Spring Festival Schedule; Today's Plastic Prices Steady with Increases, PS Up 470
1. A large number of blank sailings! Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd announce their 2026 Spring Festival sailing suspension plan.
Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, under the Gemini Alliance, recently announced that a significant number of sailings will be canceled during the Chinese New Year. As February 17 marks the Chinese Lunar New Year, this holiday will result in the cancellation of 16 sailings within the Gemini network, affecting several routes across the Trans-Pacific, Europe, Arabian Gulf, and South America East.

As part of the 2026 Chinese New Year plan, Maersk will implement temporary schedule adjustments in the Trans-Pacific route network. Due to reduced export activities during the holiday period, a small number of sailings need to be suspended to adjust capacity and maintain the reliability of the entire network. According to Hapag-Lloyd, these suspensions will affect seven Asia-to-US routes and five Asia-to-Europe routes.
