Jilin Petrochemical Transformation And Upgrade Project Basically Concluded, Multiple Key Indicators Hit New Highs

According to the first press conference of the 2026 Jilin Provincial "Two Sessions," the transformation and upgrading project of Jilin Petrochemical has largely concluded after nearly four years of construction. With the main production units successively completed and put into operation, the company's crude oil processing volume, ethylene output, and production of specialty products, among other key indicators, reached historical highs in 2025.

The Jilin Petrochemical Transformation and Upgrading Project is a major landmark and leading initiative for the petrochemical industry in Jilin Province. According to Song Gang, Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jilin Province, by the end of 2025, 26 out of the 28 main process units of the project will have completed intermediate handover. Specifically, the core unit of the project is scheduled to produce qualified ethylene products on August 31, 2025, achieving a successful initial startup. According to the introduction, the company's annual crude oil processing volume reached 9.95 million tons, setting a historical high. Its ethylene production capacity has been increased from 850,000 tons/year to 1.9 million tons/year, elevating it from a mid-tier domestic level to a leading position in China. The company ranks first domestically in ABS production capacity, second in acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, and EPDM rubber production capacity, and among the top in polyethylene and styrene production capacity. Its "flagship product," ABS, offers 36 grades, and its EPDM rubber products boast 38 grades.
