FAW, Dongfeng Executive Salaries Disclosed, 2026 Performance Becomes Key
Recently, SASAC disclosed the annual salaries of over 80 central enterprise leaders, including two car companies, FAW Group and Dongfeng Group. Let's take a look at the specifics.
Chairman's annual salary is 900,000 yuan, Dongfeng is higher than FAW.
According to disclosures, Qiu Xiantong, Chairman of FAW Group, has an annual salary of 909,700 yuan, the highest among senior executives of the two central automotive enterprises, FAW and Dongfeng.

On average, that amounts to just over 80,000 yuan per month. As the chairman of FAW Group, responsible for the operations of the entire group, earning 909,700 yuan a year for such demanding work is, in fact, not a lot.
Among the executives of FAW Group, the second highest-paid is Liu Yigong, the General Manager of FAW Group, with an annual salary of 886,900 yuan, which is not significantly different from that of the chairman. Generally speaking, the General Manager position often requires frequent visits to the front lines and involves more diverse and complex tasks, so this annual salary is not considered high.
As for the lowest salaries, Sun Jiguang, head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of FAW Group, received only 136,300 yuan. Meanwhile, Zhou Zhiping, a well-known figure who has already been transferred from FAW Group, had an annual salary of only 202,000 yuan.

Compared to FAW, Dongfeng executives generally have slightly higher annual salaries. Although Dongfeng Group Chairman Yang Qing's annual salary is only 868,600 yuan, the lowest-paid member of the leadership team, Liu Yanhong, still earns 390,900 yuan annually.
2025 had its successes and shortcomings, will 2026 see a breakthrough?
It should be noted that the salaries of central SOE executives disclosed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) are for the 2024 fiscal year. The specific figures for what these executives will earn in the 2025 fiscal year are not yet available.

According to public information, FAW Group's vehicle production and sales exceeded 3.3 million units in 2025. Among them, sales of self-owned brands reached 940,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 15%, while sales of self-owned new energy vehicles reached 366,000 units, up 71.4% year-on-year. In addition, sales of joint venture brands reached 2.362 million units, maintaining a leading position in the joint venture brand segment.
For 2026, FAW Group has set a target of 3.546 million vehicles, an increase of 7.39% compared to the annual sales of over 3.3 million vehicles in 2025.

Dongfeng Group's cumulative sales in 2025 reached 2.47 million units, a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.33%. However, both Voyah and eπ achieved certain successes, laying the foundation for rapid growth in 2026.
It is reported that Dongfeng Group has set a target of 3.25 million vehicles for 2026. For Dongfeng Group, whose joint venture brands are currently experiencing a downturn, this goal is quite challenging. Of course, as mentioned earlier, with a solid foundation laid in 2025, a rapid breakthrough is expected in 2026.
The annual salary of executives is fixed, while performance-based compensation varies depending on sales volume and performance. If breakthroughs are made and established targets are met, the remuneration executives receive each year can be quite substantial.
