Engel expands production network through serbian site

ENGEL is expanding its global production network through a new manufacturing base in Funda, Serbia. This move strengthens the company’s competitiveness and secures a long-term, high-performance value chain in Europe. Additionally, customers in the European and U.S. markets will benefit from shorter lead times and greater supply reliability.

The new site is part of the evolution of ENGEL’s European manufacturing architecture. The focus is on repositioning the machinery manufacturing business to optimize international location advantages and establish a resilient European supply chain. In the first phase, the Kikinda plant and its 150 employees (to be hired within three years) will produce machined components.

Stefan Engleder, CEO of ENGEL Group, stated: “The new Kikinda site complements our existing plants in Europe. It enhances our cost efficiency and provides greater flexibility compared to sourcing directly from Asia. This allows our Austrian facilities to focus more on what we do best: delivering highly complex, customized system solutions for global demand.”

Peter Jungwirth will serve as the Managing Director of ENGEL Serbia, while currently holding the position of Commercial Director at the Kaplice (Czech Republic) site. Meanwhile, experienced ENGEL employees from Austria will train the local team.
