China Enters the Ranks of Manufacturing Powerhouses, Home Appliances Remain World Leaders

On December 30th, the "2025 China Manufacturing Power Development Index Report" and the series of achievements titled "China Manufacturing Key Areas Technology Innovation Green Paper - Technology Roadmap (2025)" were released in Beijing. The report indicates that China has entered the ranks of global manufacturing powers! It is expected that by 2030, China's home appliances will continue to maintain a leading position in the world along with information and communication equipment, advanced rail transit equipment, ships and marine engineering equipment, power equipment, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, textiles, and other fields, with breakthroughs in original innovation.

The new version of the "Green Book" sets up a key area group for "Smart Home," which includes two priority development directions: "Home Appliances" and "Smart Home." The China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute continues to serve as the leading unit for the "Home Appliances" research working group, while the research work for the "Smart Home" direction is led by Qingdao Guochuang Smart Home Appliances Research Institute Co., Ltd.

The "Green Paper on Technological Innovation in Key Areas of China's Manufacturing Industry - Technology Roadmap (2025)" released this time is jointly compiled by the National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategy Advisory Committee and the Strategic Advisory Center of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It systematically analyzes and looks forward to the major progress and future priorities in 17 key areas and 35 priority directions, including the new generation information technology industry. Since 2015, this roadmap has been iteratively released in five versions. This edition gathers the wisdom of over 70 academicians, thousands of experts, and senior executives from related enterprises, providing authoritative guidance for the future development of the manufacturing industry.
