From April 21 to 22, during the 38th CHINAPLAS International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, Wang Zhanjie, President of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, Jia Ning, Deputy Secretary-General, and other representatives of the Association met with representatives from several international plastic industry organizations and related entities for a discussion on enhancing international exchanges and cooperation among industry associations, jointly addressing global challenges in the green transformation of the plastics industry, promoting shared access to market resources, and advancing collaborative development of the global industrial chain.

On the afternoon of April 21, Liu Guanji, along with his team, had a conversation with Mr. Mario Maggiani, General Manager of the Italian Association of Plastic and Rubber Processing Machinery and Mold Manufacturers (AMAPLAST), at the AMAPLAST exhibition booth.

Mr. Wang Zhanjie, Chairman, stated that China and Italy enjoy complementary strengths in the plastics industry and have broad prospects for cooperation. He invited Mr. Mario and member companies of AMAPLAS to attend and visit the China International Plastics Exhibition in Nanjing at the end of October, to engage in multidimensional and in-depth business matchmaking and technical collaboration with Chinese plastics enterprises, further strengthen cross-border industrial linkages, and jointly explore new opportunities for global plastics industry development.

Mr. Mario expressed his gratitude for the invitation from Chairman Wang Zhanjie, and will actively mobilize member companies to visit and exchange in Nanjing, building a bridge for practical cooperation between Chinese and Italian enterprises.

On the afternoon of April 21, Chairman Wang Zhanjie and his delegation also met with CC Cheah, Chairman of the Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA), to discuss the co-organization of the Asian Plastics Industry Conference during the October Nanjing exhibition. Both parties agreed that, given the current increasing demand for interconnectivity and supply chain collaboration in the Asia-Pacific plastics industry, holding a specialized conference on the Asian plastics industry through the Nanjing exhibition platform would be conducive to deepening technical exchanges, trade cooperation, and resource sharing in the plastics industry between China and Malaysia and across the Asian region. This would help in precisely connecting the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and jointly promoting the sustainable development of the Asian plastics industry.

On the morning of April 22, Chairman Wang Zhanjie, Deputy Secretary-General and Secretary-General of the Plastic Pipes Committee Zhao Yan, and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Plastic Pipes Committee Guo Jing held a discussion at the association's booth with Leendert van der Marel, Director of Business Development at Kiwa Testing Company of the Netherlands, Ricardo Pascual Galan, International Product Manager, and Chen Yicong, Project Manager for Water Business at Kiwa Testing Company Guangzhou.

Liu Zhanjie, chairman, introduced the overall operation of China's plastic industry and the plastic pipe industry, as well as the 2026 China International Plastics Exhibition and the concurrent "8th China International Plastic Pipe Conference." He stated that China's plastic industry is developing rapidly with great market potential, and he recommended that the Dutch Kiwa Testing Company participate in the 2026 China International Plastics Exhibition to gain more cooperation opportunities in the Chinese market.

Mr. Leendert van der Marel and Mr. Ricardo Pascual Galan both expressed their anticipation of providing the latest European market information to Chinese enterprises at the 2026 China International Plastics Exhibition and expanding their cooperation with Chinese enterprise users.

On the afternoon of April 22, President Wang Zhanjie and Deputy Secretary-General Jia Ning met with Mikhail Katsayevman, Chairman of the Association of Plastic Processors of the Russian Federation, and General Manager Bazunov Peter at the association's booth for a discussion.

Mr. Wang Zhanjie, Chairman, outlined the current operational status of China's plastics industry, its green and low-carbon transformation, and the opportunities for industry development, expressing expectations for deeper and more practical cooperation between the two countries' industries to achieve mutual benefit and common growth.

Chairman Mikhail noted that in recent years, Russia's plastics industry has been steadily developing, continuously advancing its strategic layout in areas such as industrial upgrading, sustainable development, utilization of recycled resources, and ensuring the supply of chemical raw materials. He expressed the hope to strengthen interaction between the Russian and Chinese plastics industries by leveraging the international exchange and cooperation platform established by the China Plastics Processing Industry Association.

The two parties also discussed cooperation matters regarding the "Second China-Russia Plastic Industry Technology and Market Matching Conference" to be held during the Nanjing International Plastic Exhibition at the end of October. They all expressed their commitment to continuously strengthening communication and coordination to ensure the successful hosting of the conference, further solidifying the long-term and stable cooperation foundation between China and Russia in the plastic industry.
