Walton Eye Care is pleased to announce the newest member of our dedicated team, Dr. Joseph Hayek. Dr. Hayek is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, treating dry eyes, macular degeneration, and managing glaucoma with minimally invasive surgery. After graduating summa cum laude from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology, Dr. Hayek received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, during which time he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Hayek then completed a transitional year residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and served as chief resident during his ophthalmology residency at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Hayek has researched topics ranging from ocular injections to conditions such as optic neuritis and corneal ulcers. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.
