Walking-Rose is a family setnet operation on the Kvichak river in Bristol Bay, focused on sustainable fishing and regenerative farming. We fish for wild sockeye salmon, flash-freezing each fish to ensure quality. We are also stewards of a small farm on East County Rd, raising pastured lamb as part of our restoration practice. We use management-intensive grazing rotations to improve the soil and produce a healthy animal. We are engaged in restoration work on 8 acres of wooded and riparian habitat. As a business, we strive for sustainability and are in relationship with community and ecological projects in Western Alaska and Central Washington, contributing finances, time, and fish to support these initiatives. Our offerings include Wild Sockeye Salmon (fillets and portions) and Grass Fed Lamb (meat by the piece, custom cuts, and wholesale options). We are building a licensed butchering facility on farm and will offer halal harvest options and community butcher shop access. We are proud to be part of the Bristol Bay setnet fleet, minimizing our ecological footprint and prioritizing quality. We also raise a variety of sheep for both wool and meat, focusing on a predominantly Gotland flock, and are committed to restoring riparian habitat and using regenerative practices to improve soil health. We support organizations like United Tribes of Bristol Bay and Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust.
