Vintage for a Cause is circular economy brand with social commitment, focused on reusing textile waste through upcyling while empowering unemployed women over 50. Within a collaborative platform  framework the brand  creates limited editions of timeless designs, gathering, engaging and influencing different stakeholders throughout the value chain towards a more sustainable production and consumption. Our History Get inside our world and meet HELENA ANTÓNIA, our founder. Former lawyer, Helena jumped into the sustainable fashion world, presenting her idea and vision in a Social Innovation bootcamp during 2012, where shediscovered how businesses can be a force for good. As a seamstress’s daughter that grew up wearing transformed clothes, Helena sees clothes and the people that make it with different eyes. Surrounded by good examples of what nowadays is considered a responsible and conscious lifestyle, Helena sees sustainable fashion not only as a mean of personal expression, but more as a reflection of the changes we want to see in the world. Since 2013, she is being working to empower women and to reuse textile waste. To leverage social and environmental impact she has been gathering a huge group of designers, companies, organizations and volunteers. This work and impact has been supported by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation , local city councils and was recently awarded by Foundation Yves Rocher Portugal , within Terre de Femmes Awards 2020 , Activa Revista, Inspiring Women in sustainability Award 2020 . Helena was also considered as one of the TOP 100 Women in Social Enterprise in Europe, by EUCLID and is one of the European Social Innovation Competition dedicated to Reimagine fashion alumni. Created in 2012 by Helena Antonia, we design and manufacture the majority of our limited-edition collections by responsible manufacturing partners in portugal or abroad using sustainable methods and materials. We source deadstock and sustainable fabrics incorporating better practices throughout or supply chain to make beautiful vintage inspired styles at a fraction of the environmental impact of conventional fashion. It our mission to lead and inspire a sustainable way to do fashion. Our mission Vintage’s design mission is to make affordable ethical and sustainability clothing inspired in vintage styles. We want to create clothes with quality that fells antique and unique and that permeates the full form of time, resisting and maintaining its identity. We want you to feel special recreating iconic styles that make you stand out in the crowd! Our design process starts with the selection of rescued deadstock fabrics and with us thinking about what people want to wear. Our business is not fashion is people. We put our social impact at the center of everything we do. We don’t have all the answers, but we want to improve everyday .
