Our stores in Chicago, Highland Park and Barrington offer the best of both worlds – the quality and service of a wine boutique with prices that are lower than the big-box stores. Howard “Bud” Schwarzbach launched the first Wine Discount Center store in 1986 on Chicago’s Near North Side, grew the business to multiple locations. Peter Schwarzbach has now taken the lead, growing the business to what you see today - Vin Chicago! A Honest Selection of Wines You might visit stores or websites with more wines than we offer, but we doubt that you'll be able to find a store or website with a more carefully picked array of wines. For the vast majority of wines, we taste them before we purchase – even if they already have a good score from one of the major publications. The wines listed on our website are actually in stock at one or more of our stores. Knowledgable People Our people are knowledgeable without a trace of snobbery. Many on our team have earned upper-level certifications from the Court of Master Sommeliers and other respected organizations. Many others have decades of experience in selecting and selling wine.
