He took every chance he was given to fish with his parents and hunt with his grandfathers -the foundations of his outdoor insight and woodsmanship. Curtis started hunting deer with a shotgun while growing up in Iowa. Eventually, he became addicted to bowhunting. To this date, he has killed many Pope & Young bucks and mature gobblers with archery equipment. “Whether it’s bowhunting big bucks or chasing that spring gobbler,” Curtis noted, “I love it all the same.” These lifelong passions led Curtis to Upper Iowa University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Management. His long conservation career has allowed him to go in depth with studying and managing wildlife. In addition, Curtis has thrived in the hunting industry as a videographer, photographer, writer and pro-staffer for a number of companies. He has also found success in the professional turkey calling circuit, competing at the local and national level every year. As owner of Victory Outdoors, Curtis continually strives to hone his skills in the field and on the water.
