Salty sea air, wind and sun: that is typical of Texel. And it is precisely those conditions that ensure the best wool. They make the fleece of the Texel sheep voluminous & curly. This makes it wonderfully soft, resilient and optimally insulating. That makes our Texel sheep wool the perfect filling for duvets and pillows. Researchers discovered that sleeping under wool provides a longer and deeper sleep than sleeping under synthetic materials and down. The reason for this is the amount of moisture you lose every night (an average of 1 liter) and how your duvet reacts to it. Wool has the unique ability to absorb 30% of its own weight in moisture. This is then dissipated to the environment, keeping the skin dry. To regulate the temperature, it is therefore essential to sleep under the right materials. In summer, wool has a cooling effect and in winter it keeps you nice and warm. That is why our pillows and duvets are filled with 100% pure wool from the sheep of the Dutch island of Texel.
