Besides perfumes for Van De Zotte, I also develop sustainable, wooden watches for my watch brand HOT&TOT. I like to develop products that tell a story. Or that actually could not exist without the story. In this prosperous time in which we live, where almost anything can be made or imitated, there is a great need for authentic experiences. Together with graphic designer Ferry Zomerdijk we created our first perfume MILLS in 2018, in order to let people in the world experience what it is like to stand in a traditional Dutch mill. Because scents are a magical way to tell a story. I believe that scents and the olfactory system in general are severely underrated means of communication between people. I can show you a picture of a windmill or a Dutch polder and you will certainly enjoy that, but I can also let you smell the scent of centuries of craftsmanship in such a mill, or I can take you in your imagination in the middle of a polder field between grass and herbs, and that can be truly touching. And that is what scents can do. My perfumes are my way of storytelling. They give you an olfactory experience of our Dutch history. Experience my stories. Made in the Netherlands, located in Alkmaar.
