Urban Pharm is a small business founded by two friends over kitchen tables, coffee, and a shared delight in the power of food and drink to deeply nourish. We at Urban Pharm believe well-being flows from simple, everyday goodnesses offered and received with generosity and care. “Good for you” is whatever you want it to be, whatever infuses your day with a bit of vibrancy, color, and wild-heartedness. We live in the city and honor those roots with the name Urban and Pharm with the -ph- nods to both food-from-the-earth and food-as-medicine. Naturally, the word Pharm refers to farm with an -f-, which is the source of our ingredients. Much of what makes for a healthy and thriving farm aligns with the Urban Pharm understanding of what makes for a healthy and thriving human—abundance, interconnectedness, seasonality, and deep valuing of the integrity of the basics. Every bit of Urban Pharm reflects our values and particular understanding of what is “good for you”: vibrancy, beauty, the everyday unexpected, texture, and connection. The radish captures all of this in its crazy variety of colors. Truly, is there a more incredible vegetable creation than the watermelon radish? It is ordinary on the outside and unexpectedly bright and spicy on the inside, with roots in the earth and green leaves sprouting toward the sun.
