Polycarbonate sheet (also known as PC sheet, solid sheet, bulletproof glass, Cabron board, plastic solid sheet, polycarbonate board) is made from high-performance engineering plastics, polycarbonate or polycarbonate ester. Characteristics: impact resistant, unbreakable strength exceeding that of tempered glass, acrylic sheets by hundreds of times, tough, safe, anti-theft, and good bulletproof effect. Can be arched and bent: Excellent processability, strong plasticity, can be bent into arc shapes, semi-circles, etc. according to the actual needs on site, suitable for telephone booths, advertising billboards, lightbox advertisements, exhibition arrangements; applicable for instruments, panels of low and high voltage switch cabinets, LED screen panels, and military industries; wind and other indoor decorative materials; suitable for sound barrier walls on highways and urban elevated roads; applicable for agricultural greenhouses and breeding sheds; suitable for modern ecological restaurant ceilings; widely used in curtains.
Advantages
(1) Light transmittance: The light transmittance of polycarbonate sheet can reach 89%, comparable to glass. UV-coated sheets will not yellow, fog, or have poor light transmission under sunlight exposure; after ten years, the light transmission loss is only 10%, while PVC loss rates can reach 15%-20%, and fiberglass ranges from 12%-20%.
(2) Impact resistance: The impact strength is 250-300 times that of ordinary glass, 30 times that of acrylic sheets of the same thickness, and 2-20 times that of tempered glass. Dropping a 3 kg hammer from two meters will not cause any cracks, earning it the titles of "shatterproof glass" and "sound steel."
(3) UV protection: One side of the PC sheet is co-extruded with an anti-UV (ultraviolet) coating, while the other side features anti-condensation treatment, combining UV resistance, heat insulation, and anti-fogging functions. It can block UV rays from passing through, making it suitable for protecting valuable artworks and exhibits from UV damage.
(4) Lightweight: The specific gravity is only half that of glass, saving costs on transportation, unloading, installation, and supporting frames.
(5) Fire retardant: According to the national standard GB50222—95, polycarbonate sheets are classified as difficult to ignite, grade B1. The ignition point of PC sheets is 580℃, self-extinguishing after leaving the flame, and they do not produce toxic gases during combustion, nor do they promote the spread of fire.
