Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) is a type of rubber with excellent comprehensive properties and has a long history of use in the manufacturing of sealing products.

1. Aging resistance. The sealing strips exhibit excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, steam resistance, color stability, electrical performance, oil compatibility, and room temperature activity. They can be used for long periods at 120°C and for short or intermittent periods at 150-200°C. Under conditions of 50 pphm ozone concentration and 30% elongation, they can last over 150 hours without cracking.

2. Corrosion resistance. EPDM sealing strips have good resistance to various polar chemicals such as alcohols, acids, alkalis, oxidants, refrigerants, detergents, animal and vegetable oils, ketones, and esters.

3. Steam resistance. The EPDM sealing strips also have excellent steam resistance, which is even better than their heat resistance. After nearly 100 hours in 230°C superheated steam, there is no visible change.

4. Hot water resistance. The resistance of EPDM to hot water is also good. After soaking in 125°C hot water for 15 months, the mechanical properties change very little, with a volume shrinkage rate of only 0.3%.

5. Good elasticity. The EPDM sealing strips have good elasticity and elongation at break.
