Main Products and Description

Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) is an aromatic crystalline thermoplastic polymer with a melting point of 343 °C, known for its properties comparable to polyimide (PI) and is referred to as a super heat-resistant thermoplastic resin. Its main properties are as follows:

High-Temperature Performance: The glass transition temperature of PEEK polymers and compounds is typically 143 °C, with a melting point of 340 °C. Tests have shown that while the thermal deformation temperature of unreinforced pure resin is only 160 °C (HDT/B), with glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforcement, the thermal deformation temperature can reach 315 °C, and the continuous use temperature can reach 260 °C.

Wear Resistance: PEEK provides excellent wear resistance under various pressure, temperature, speed, and relative rough contact surface conditions, comparable to polyimide materials.

Chemical Resistance: PEEK polymers can resist most chemical environments even at high temperatures.

Flammability, Smoke, and Toxic Gas Emission Levels: PEEK polymers are very stable and can achieve UL94 V-0 flame retardant requirements without adding any flame retardants at a thickness of 1.45mm. The composition and inherent purity of the material result in minimal smoke and toxic gas production in fire environments.

Hydrolysis Resistance: PEEK polymers and compounds can resist chemical degradation caused by water or high-pressure steam. Components made from these materials can continuously work in water environments at high temperatures and pressures while maintaining good mechanical properties. PEEK has a low water absorption rate and can be used in pressurized hot water or steam at 300 °C.

Fatigue Resistance: Polyether Ether Ketone resin is a balance of toughness and rigidity. Its excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stress is outstanding among all plastics, comparable to alloy materials.

Self-Lubricating: Polyether Ether Ketone resin has outstanding sliding properties among all plastics, suitable for applications requiring low friction coefficients and wear resistance. In particular, sliding grades modified with a 10% mix of carbon fiber, graphite, and polytetrafluoroethylene or 30% CF reinforced grades all have excellent sliding properties.

Electrical Properties and Radiation Resistance: PEEK has superior electrical properties, remaining stable over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies, with low dielectric loss even at high frequencies, such as 0.0033 at 1010 Hz. At room temperature, its volume resistivity is 1016 Ω·cm, and the breakdown voltage is 17kV/mm. It has strong resistance to γ-radiation, exceeding that of polyethylene, a common resin, and can maintain good insulating properties at γ-radiation doses up to 1100Mrad.

Peel Resistance: PEEK resin has excellent peel resistance, allowing it to be made into very thin coated wires or electromagnetic wires, suitable for use under harsh conditions.
