Wall Corner Guards Installation Method
1. First, apply a layer of plaster to the base layer, then snap a line; this way, the line will be clearer. Use a trowel to clean the corner guard and the surrounding protrusions. If not cleaned properly, the line will encounter obstacles and will not be straight.
2. Snap lines for inside and outside corners. At each vertical inside and outside corner, use a plumb bob to create a vertical line for snapping. Based on the vertical line of the corners, place one parallel line 500mm to each side, defined as the "corner standard line."
Before applying the wall putty, use finishing plaster to level both sides of the corners within 500mm, ensuring that the vertical direction checked with a 2-meter level does not exceed a deviation of 2mm. For areas beyond 500mm from the corners, use finishing plaster or putty for leveling. 3. Apply putty. Use putty along the ink line to straighten the corners. Once dry, apply a full coat of plaster. With a 2-meter L-shaped aluminum level, one person holds each end and pushes parallel from one side of the inside corner towards the corner. As you reach the corner, gently move back and forth before scraping out parallel, ensuring that the inside corners do not have small bends. Once dry, check the inside and outside corners for compliance, examining the wall's flatness at the corners based on the vertical line. If the deviation is within 5mm, level with wall linings; if it exceeds 5mm, leveling must be done with plaster.
4. Protection against corner bumps.
Outside corners, being protruding, are more susceptible to impacts, causing damage to the wall and potentially harming people or furniture. To avoid such incidents, protective measures can be taken for outside corners. Options include smoothing the corner by sanding it into a small arc; or installing a corner guard for protection.
