SPB-1 Fire Stability Testing Instrument for Paper-faced Gypsum Board
1. Application Scope
The SPB-1 Fire Stability Testing Instrument for Paper-faced Gypsum Board, also known as the Paper-faced Gypsum Board Fire Stability Combustion Tester, is used to determine the fire stability of fire-resistant gypsum boards and is also suitable for testing the fire performance of other building materials, decoration, and finishing materials.
2. Test Introduction: The sample is drilled and treated under specified environmental conditions. The sample is suspended between two flame outlets using a support rod, with the flame outlets positioned perpendicular to the sample surface. Liquefied petroleum gas is used as the heat source to supply gas to the two burners of the fire stability testing instrument, with the burner nozzle positioned 30mm away from the board surface. According to the standards, a load is suspended from the lower end of the sample, and the burner is ignited. A thermocouple is used to measure the temperature at a distance of 5mm from the board surface. In the initial stage of the test, the charred protective paper that falls on the thermocouple should be removed without shaking the sample. By adjusting, the temperature should be controlled within (800 ± 30) °C within 3 minutes, and this temperature should be maintained throughout the test. The timing starts from when the sample catches fire until the sample breaks. The time taken for each sample to burn through is recorded, and the minimum value among the five samples is taken as the fire stability of this group of samples, accurate to 1 minute.

Testing Principle: The sample is drilled and treated under specified environmental conditions. The sample is suspended between two flame outlets, with the flame outlets positioned perpendicular to the sample surface. Liquefied petroleum gas is used as the heat source to supply gas to the burners, with the burner nozzle positioned 30mm away from the board surface. A weight is suspended according to regulations, and the burner is ignited. A thermocouple is used to measure the temperature at a distance of 5mm from the board surface. In the initial stage of the test, the charred protective paper that falls on the thermocouple should be removed without shaking the sample.
