 Drainage Board Product Overview:

The base plate of Shandong Tianhai drainage board is made of high-impact and high-compression resistant polyethylene (HIPS) and HDPE, which can withstand long-term high pressure without deformation. This long-lasting compressive strength can not only withstand the weight and load of the concrete base plate but can also resist the inevitable external pressures and impacts during construction, such as vehicles, worker foot traffic, and the impact of concrete pouring. The base plate maintains its shape over time, thus preserving its original drainage capacity. The filter layer geotextile on the base plate is designed to ensure that drainage channels do not become blocked by foreign materials, such as backfill soil particles or concrete.

Drainage Board Product Features:

The drainage board integrates waterproofing and drainage, effectively addressing the relationship between waterproofing and drainage. In terms of drainage functionality and economic benefits, it is superior and more reliable than traditional stone and ceramsite drainage and other filter layers. The drainage board combines waterproofing and drainage, increasing the durability of engineering; it has a performance aging period of up to 120 years. Durability is a crucial aspect of waterproofing in building structures, which presents new and higher requirements for waterproofing issues. A waterproof system constructed using modern flexible waterproof materials can theoretically achieve complete impermeability, but waterproof systems are often damaged and can still experience leakage in the environment. Composite drainage boards can effectively divert and drain this water, integrating prevention, drainage, interception, and blockage in engineering waterproofing, meeting the new requirements of modern building waterproofing systems.

Main Functions of the Drainage Board:

Water Conducting and Drainage Capability

The drainage board features a hollow rib structure with concave and convex surfaces that can quickly and effectively drain rainwater, significantly reducing or even eliminating static water pressure on the waterproof layer. This active water conduction principle achieves a proactive waterproofing effect. Waterproofing Performance: The polyethylene (HDPE) material of the drainage board itself is an excellent waterproof material. By employing reliable connection methods, the drainage board serves as an effective auxiliary waterproof material.

Protection Capability of the Drainage Board

The drainage board effectively protects structures and waterproof layers from various acids and alkalis in the soil, as well as from plant root penetration. When backfilling soil against the exterior walls of the basement, it can protect the building and waterproof layer from damage.

Sound Insulation and Moisture-proof Ventilation Function of the Drainage Board

Laboratory data shows that the polyethylene (HDPE) drainage protection board can effectively reduce indoor noise by 14 decibels at 500 Hz, demonstrating significant sound insulation capabilities. When used on floors or walls, the drainage board also provides excellent ventilation and moisture-proof effects.

Drainage Board Overview:

The drainage board is divided into two series: rolled and sheet types. The rolled type is further divided into "hot-melt" and "overlap" types. The unique process shapes the plastic board into closed, protruding cylindrical shells, forming a concave-convex membrane with continuous shells, providing three-dimensional space and a certain support height. The top of the shell is covered with a geotextile filter layer, used for water infiltration, drainage, and water storage. It is also known as: drainage and diversion board, drainage protection board, water filter board, plastic concave-convex drainage board, and plastic sandwich board.

Application Scope of the Drainage Board:

The drainage board is suitable for greening projects: garage roof greening, rooftop gardens, vertical greening, sloped roof greening, football fields, and golf courses.

The drainage board is suitable for municipal projects: airports, roadbeds, subways, tunnels, and landfills.

The drainage board is suitable for construction projects: upper or lower layers of building foundations, interior and exterior walls of basements, roof impermeability and insulation layers, etc. The drainage board is suitable for transportation projects: highways, railway beds, embankments, and slope protection layers.

The drainage board is suitable for hydraulic engineering: reservoir anti-seepage, storage tanks, and artificial lakes.

Main Classifications of Drainage Boards:

Commonly used drainage boards in construction include: plastic drainage boards, storage and drainage boards, rolled drainage boards, anti-seepage drainage boards, composite drainage boards, three-dimensional drainage boards, and sheet drainage boards.

Drainage Board Installation Guidelines:

1. Clear debris from the installation site, level the cement, and ensure there are no significant depressions or bumps. Outdoor garage roofs and rooftop gardens should have a slope of 2-5‰.

2. When installing the drainage board, take protective measures as much as possible. Timely backfill work should be done after laying the drainage board in layers or on outdoor garage roofs to prevent strong winds from disturbing the drainage board and affecting installation quality. Quickly protect the waterproof layer of the basement and interior walls to prevent damage to the drainage board from people or objects.

3. For waterproofing the basement floor, install a layer of drainage board above the foundation, with the round protrusions facing downward, leaving blind ditches around it to prevent groundwater intrusion. Water naturally flows through the space of the drainage board into the surrounding blind ditches and then into the collection pit.

4. For waterproofing the interior walls of the basement, lay the drainage board on the main wall of the building, with the round protrusions facing the main wall. Build a single wall or use wire mesh with cement to protect the drainage board, allowing water outside to flow directly down into the blind ditch and then to the collection pit.

5. The backfill soil should be cohesive soil, and it is ideal to lay 3-5 cm of yellow sand on top of the geotextile to facilitate water filtration; if the backfill soil is nutrient-rich or lightweight soil, there is no need to lay an additional layer of yellow sand, as this type of soil is already loose and easily filters water.

6. When laying the drainage board in any area, be careful to prevent soil, cement, yellow sand, and other debris from entering the front space of the drainage board, ensuring that the space of the drainage board remains unobstructed.

7. When installing the drainage board, overlap the edges by 1-2 support points, or align two base plates and overlap with geotextile on top, as long as no soil enters the drainage channels of the drainage board, the drainage can remain unobstructed.
