Main Products and Description
Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) is an aromatic crystalline thermoplastic polymer with a melting point of 343°C, possessing characteristics comparable to polyimide (PI), and is known as a super heat-resistant thermoplastic resin. Its main properties are as follows:
High Temperature Performance: The glass transition temperature of PEEK polymers and compounds is typically 143°C, and the melting point is 340°C. Tests have shown that although the heat distortion temperature of unreinforced pure resin is only 160°C (HDT/B), with glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforcement, the heat distortion temperature can reach 315°C, and the continuous service temperature can reach 260°C.
Wear Resistance: PEEK provides excellent wear performance under various pressures, temperatures, speeds, and relatively rough contact surfaces, reaching the level of polyimide materials.
Chemical Resistance: Even at high temperatures, PEEK polymers can resist most chemical environments very well.
Flammability, Smoke, and Toxic Gas Emission Levels: PEEK polymers are very stable and can meet UL94 V-0 flame retardant requirements without adding any flame retardants at a thickness of 1.45mm. The composition and inherent purity of the material result in minimal smoke and toxic gas generation in fire environments.
Hydrolysis Resistance: PEEK polymers and compounds can withstand chemical damage caused by water or high-pressure steam. Components made from these materials can operate continuously in water environments under high temperature and pressure while still maintaining good mechanical properties. PEEK has a very low water absorption rate and can be used in pressurized hot water or steam at 300°C.
Fatigue Resistance: PEEK resin strikes a balance between toughness and rigidity. Its excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stress is outstanding among all plastics and comparable to alloy materials.
Self-Lubrication: PEEK resin has outstanding sliding properties among all plastics, suitable for applications requiring low friction coefficients and wear resistance. Especially, sliding grades modified with a mixture of 10% carbon fiber, graphite, and polytetrafluoroethylene or 30% CF reinforced grades all exhibit excellent sliding characteristics.
Electrical Properties and Radiation Resistance: PEEK has superior electrical properties, maintaining stability over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies, with a low dielectric loss even at high frequencies, such as 0.0033 at 1010 Hz. At room temperature, the volume resistance is 10^16 Ω·cm, and the breakdown voltage is 17kV/mm. It shows strong resistance to γ radiation, exceeding the radiation resistance of general resins like polyethylene, and can maintain good insulation properties at γ radiation doses of 1100Mrad.
Peel Resistance: PEEK resin exhibits excellent peel resistance, allowing for the manufacture of thinly coated wires or electromagnetic wires that can be used under harsh conditions.
