The conical twin-screw granulator is mainly composed of five major parts: the kneading section, the base, the hydraulic system, the transmission system, and the electrical control system. The hydraulic system is operated by a hydraulic station to control the large oil cylinder, achieving opening and closing functions. It also controls the cylinders to perform actions such as tilting and lid opening, with detailed parameters customizable according to user requirements, making operation convenient and reliable. The transmission system consists of an electric motor, a reducer, and gears, with the motor matched according to the equipment model.
Due to factors such as component dimensional tolerances, assembly processes, and long-term operation under heavy load conditions, shaft wear in conical twin-screw granulators frequently occurs. Once shaft wear happens, it inevitably leads to unstable blade operation, causing vibrations or unexpected shutdowns. At this point, we need to carry out repair treatments. Today, I will briefly introduce the selection and application of shaft wear repair techniques.
Surface oil-baking treatment: Use oxygen and acetylene to bake off the oil contamination on the surface of the kneader shaft until there are no more sparks and the surface is dry.
2. Pre-machine and roughen the worn parts of the shaft, then clean the shaft surface with anhydrous ethanol and let it dry.
3. Mix the Soray carbon nanopolymer material in the correct ratio until it is uniform and free of color differences, then apply the mixed material to the shaft surface with a thickness slightly greater than the single-side wear amount.
4. After the material has cured, machine it to the required dimensions to complete the repair.
This technology is similar to a cold welding technique, which does not generate high temperatures during the online repair process, thus effectively protecting the equipment from damage. The repair process is not limited by the amount of unilateral wear on the shaft. Additionally, the material possesses excellent bonding properties, compressive strength, wear resistance, and comprehensive mechanical advantages such as elastic deformation that metals do not have, ensuring the effective use and longevity of the repaired part.
Maintenance of conical twin-screw granulator:
1. It should first be placed in a well-ventilated location to ensure that the heat generated by the motor can dissipate, thereby extending its lifespan.
2. Observe the gear oil of the reducer daily, and the oil level should be maintained at the midpoint of the oil window. Lubricating oil should be regularly added to the bearings to ensure lubrication between them; check the cooling water of the reducer daily, and during operation, the cooling water of the reducer should be in a slow flow state (the water flow must not be too rapid or the water pressure too high, to avoid detaching the brazed cooling pipes inside the box).
3. Regularly check the screws; after using a new plastic pelletizing machine for 1 hour, use tools to tighten the screws of the moving and fixed blades, enhancing the fixation between the blades and the blade holder.
4. To ensure the sharpness of the cutting edge, the knife should be regularly checked and maintained to keep it sharp, thereby reducing unnecessary damage to other components caused by a dull or defective blade.
5. When replacing the blades, the gap between the moving blade and the fixed blade: for 20HP and above, the gap can be appropriately increased as the recycled material gets thinner.
6. Before the second start, the remaining debris in the machine room should be cleared to reduce the starting resistance;
7. The inertia cover and pulley cover should be opened regularly to clean the dust outlet below the flange, as the powder discharged from the plastic pelletizing machine room can enter the shaft bearings.
