Brief Description:The co-rotating industrial extruder consists of several parts including the drive unit, feeding device, barrel, and screws. The functions of these components are similar to those in a single-screw extruder, as shown in Figure 1. The difference from a single-screw extruder lies in the fact that a twin-screw extruder has two parallel screws placed within a barrel with an "∞"-shaped cross-section.
Co-rotating Industrial ExtruderPrecautions:
1) No metal objects are allowed to enter the hopper to avoid damaging the screw.
Before starting, the screw must be turned manually for more than one full rotation.
3) Normal operation, the host running at low speed without load should not exceed 2 minutes.
4) No one should stand in front of the machine head when starting, to prevent injury from material being ejected.
5) Set the process conditions based on the operation records without exceeding the speed limit;
6) During cleaning, avoid letting water or oil enter the electrical control cabinet, and do not pull or touch any wire ends to prevent loosening and moisture.
7) Regularly check all lubrication points, including those with forced oiling and pressure cup lubrication;
8) Pay attention to the changes in the soft water quality, and if it turns black, it should be replaced promptly.
9) When straightening the material strips, use your hand or a plastic strip; do not use a metal strip.
10) Do not touch any of the rotating parts of the equipment.
No foreign objects are allowed in the material, and it is strictly prohibited for hard substances such as metal and sand to enter the hopper and extruder.
2. When opening the barrel lid or the vacuum cover, strictly prevent foreign objects from falling into the main unit.
3. There should be sufficient preheating and warm-up time, and the manual turning of the machine before start-up should be smooth. Generally, after reaching the set process temperature, it should be maintained at a constant temperature for 2 hours.
4. The screw is only allowed to start at low speed, and the idle running time should not exceed 3 minutes.
5. After the new machine has been run-in, all gearboxes should be completely refilled with new oil. The lubricating oil should then be replaced again after 3000 hours of operation. Thereafter, during necessary maintenance, the oil quality should be tested and replaced if necessary.
6. Inspect the barrel and screw for wear annually, as well as the gearbox, bearings, and oil seals.
7. When the main motor is a DC motor, check the motor carbon brushes monthly and keep records; replace them promptly if necessary.
8. When the machine is idle for a long time, anti-rust and anti-contamination measures should be taken.
9. Daily inspection items: lubrication and oil level conditions of all lubricated parts, temperature rise and noise of bearings in all rotating components, vibration status of the unit; current and voltage display of the electric motor; temperature, pressure display of lubricating oil and cooling water, and leakage conditions of their pipelines.
