Black masterbatch pelletizer operation:
1. Start the feeder. Fill the feeding hopper with material before starting the main motor control system. Then, turn the speed control knob of the black masterbatch granulator clockwise (note that the knob should be turned counterclockwise to zero position before starting the main unit). Slowly increase the screw speed; the idle rotation speed of the screw should not exceed 20 r/min and should last for less than 2 minutes. After confirming that the machine is operating normally and the no-load current is normal, slowly start the feeding device. Once material is discharged from the head of the black masterbatch granulator, gradually and slowly increase the screw speed and the twin-screw feeder speed. Increase the speed only after the current has stabilized. Adjust the pelletizing speed in a timely manner to ensure the produced particles meet the requirements. During the speed adjustment process, closely monitor the main unit's current indicator, and it is advisable to keep the main unit's current below 80% of its rated value. At the same time, pay attention to the operation of all parts of the unit, such as noise, vibration, bearing temperature rise, heating temperature, and main unit current, which must be within the normal range. If any abnormal sound is detected, stop the machine immediately for handling.
2, Soft water cooling circulation system. Each section of the barrel cooling circuit is equipped with a manual throttle valve and a solenoid valve; the former controls the flow of soft water, while the latter automatically controls the on/off of the soft water in conjunction with the temperature control instrument of the black masterbatch pelletizer. The feeding section of the barrel is only equipped with a manual throttle valve. For materials that do not tend to accumulate unmelted at the feed opening, this section's cooling can also be left off. During the start-up phase, the soft water circulation system does not need to be used. Once the main unit operates smoothly, if the measured temperature of a certain section of the barrel is significantly higher than the set temperature, then the pump of the soft water system can be started, adjusting the bypass overflow valve at the pump outlet to control the outlet pressure between 0.2-0.3MPa. Then, slightly open the throttle valve of the section that needs cooling (do not suddenly fully open it), and wait for several minutes to observe the temperature change of that section. If there is no significant downward trend or it decreases to a new equilibrium temperature but exceeds the allowable value, the valve of the black masterbatch pelletizer's circuit can be adjusted appropriately. This process often requires some repetition to meet the requirements. Once the valve opening adjustment is determined, no further adjustment is generally needed for the same material. The water temperature in the soft water tank is controlled by regulating the cooler of the tank.
3. After the trial run, revert to 50%-80% load for a 48-hour trial production to allow all moving parts to be 'run-in' before normal production begins.
