Zhong Shanshan once called on users to resist low prices: A company should move upwards, not compete downward in a price war.
On March 31, it was reported that Zhong Shanshan, the head of Nongfu Spring, recently stated that for a company or a country to move upwards, it should not engage in downward competition. True entrepreneurs should not compete with small businesses on price and other aspects.
"I also have competitive awareness, but the longevity of an enterprise depends on who it competes with, and it should compete with the strong."
Recently, Nongfu Spring has become the focus of industry attention because the company's financial report for last year was not very ideal.
Nongfu Spring released its annual performance announcement for the year ending December 31, 2024, with last year's revenue reaching 42.896 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%; the company's net profit was 12.123 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%.
Regarding the rapid decline in the company's performance, Nongfu Spring's founder Zhong Shanshan stated in the financial report that in 2024, the company faced organized and prolonged attacks online, and Nongfu Spring's brand image underwent a historic test.
Before this, Zhong Shanshan publicly expressed his hatred of low internet prices, believing that it would affect China's economic development.
"Price is not just price; price is the life of a product. The relentless pursuit of low prices on the internet is destroying the quality of Chinese products and undermining China's economy."
In Zhong Shuangshuang's view, without prices, there would be no innovation? A good housewife finds it hard to cook without rice; without a price system as support, we can only choose outdated production methods. We can only opt for food additives, we can only rely on consumers' ignorance, to excite our sales efforts.
