West Lake Chemical Announces Acquisition of ACI Composite Materials Solutions Business
Zhuan Su Shijie has learned that Westlake Chemical Corporation announced today that it has reached an agreement to acquire the global composite materials solutions business of the ACI/Perplastic Group (collectively referred to as "ACI"). ACI is a global specialty materials manufacturer headquartered in Portugal, primarily serving the wire and cable sector. This acquisition will enhance Westlake Chemical's product portfolio.
"Combining ACI with Westlake Chemical’s existing compounding business is an excellent strategic fit and creates an opportunity to integrate with our Housing and Infrastructure Products (HIP) business. This will help us further expand Westlake Chemical’s global compounding business and add new specialty products and technologies to our existing portfolio," said Jean-Marc Gilson, President and CEO of Westlake Chemical. "ACI is an impressive company with an excellent reputation for its innovative, high-value products. We look forward to working together after their outstanding team joins us."
ACI is headquartered in Guarda, Portugal, and has four production facilities located in Mexico, Portugal, Romania, and Tunisia. The company primarily produces polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyolefins, silicones, and thermoplastic rubber compounds. For the twelve months ended December 31, 2024, ACI’s net sales were approximately 210 million euros.
The transaction is expected to be completed in early 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including obtaining approval from relevant regulatory authorities.
