Trump Officially Extends China Tariff Deadline by 90 Days!

U.S. President Trump has officially signed an executive order to extend the tariff truce with China for another 90 days, until November 10, 2025.

Trump signed the executive order just hours before the tariff deadline, which was originally set to expire at 12:01 p.m. Beijing time on August 12 as part of the China-U.S. tariff truce.

This is a typical "Trump-style negotiation," keeping people in suspense and not announcing the results until the last moment.

The tariff truce has been extended to November 10th, providing critical time for the export peak season in autumn and Christmas (including products such as electronics, clothing, and toys), allowing these goods to be exported at lower tariff rates.

Currently, goods exported from China to the United States are subject to a 30% tariff, which includes a 10% reciprocal tariff and a 20% fentanyl tariff imposed by Trump in February and March.

In May this year, both parties announced a trade dispute truce after talks held in Geneva, Switzerland, agreeing to allow 90 days for further negotiations. At the end of July, the two sides met again in Stockholm, Sweden, and announced their joint efforts to further extend the deadline.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant stated that Washington is ready to reach an agreement with China, and he is "optimistic" about the future prospects.

On Sunday, Trump urged China to make more concessions and called on China to triple its purchases of soybeans.

Last week, Trump told CNBC that the United States and China are about to reach a trade agreement, and if the agreement is reached, he will meet with China before the end of this year.
