Tesla Cars to Make African Debut, Model 3 and Model Y to Go on Sale in Morocco Mid-Year
Tesla announced that its mass-produced passenger vehicles will be officially sold in Morocco starting in mid-2026, marking the first official delivery of Tesla vehicles in an African country. The initial models launched will be the Model 3 and Model Y, making Morocco Tesla's first presence in Africa. The first market to launch whole vehicle sales, after-sales service, and warranty support. Officially authorized dealers will be established locally, accompanied by a comprehensive after-sales service system.
Morocco already had a certain base of Tesla users. European tourists have long driven their Tesla vehicles into the country, prompting Tesla to deploy a Supercharger network there earlier. In addition, there exists an unofficial import channel led by individuals, forming a relatively active user community. The proportion of gasoline vehicles in the South African market is also over 96%.

Among them, the sales of plug-in hybrid models (SHS) have continued to grow, with 590 units sold; the J7 SHS, which was launched in June 2025, has sold 317 units; the high-end positioned C9 SHS, starting at 999,900 Rand, has also achieved a notable delivery.
