Samsung Display plans to significantly increase the shipment volume of QD-OLED display panels this year, aiming for a 50% year-over-year growth.
On March 24, according to foreign media reports, Samsung Display, which has a significant advantage in OLED panels required for smartphones, began to phase out LCD panels in 2021 in order to shift towards higher-value, higher-margin QD-OLED panels.

In the reports from June 2021, South Korean media had mentioned that Samsung Display was proceeding with plans to mass-produce QD-OLED panels in the second half of that year.
And according to the latest reports from foreign media, Samsung Display's QD-OLED panels had a small amount of shipments in 2021, with 8,300 QD-OLED panels for monitors shipped that year; in the following year, it increased significantly, reaching 160,000; in 2023, it further increased, reaching 820,000.
The foreign media report also mentioned that from 2021 to 2024, the compound annual growth rate of Samsung Display's QD-OLED display panel shipments was as high as 300%.
From the reports of foreign media, Samsung Display still plans to significantly increase the shipment volume of QD-OLED display panels this year, with their target being a 50% year-over-year growth, reaching 1.43 million units.
Samsung Display, which has seen a significant increase in QD-OLED display panel shipments, also holds a considerable share in this area. Market research institutions estimate that in the global OLED display panel market, including QD-OLED, Samsung Display's share is as high as 71.2%.
