Phase I Total Investment of 11 Billion Yuan for 900,000 Tons/Year Propylene Unit
On August 23, the Zhejiang Yuanjin New Material Alkane Resources Comprehensive Utilization Integration Project made new progress. The world’s first 900,000-ton/year propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit, jointly developed by Zhejiang Yuanjin New Material Co., Ltd. and Honeywell UOP from the United States, successfully installed the thermal combined feed heat exchanger 11E-0101A.
The propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit of the project is equipped with two thermal combined feed heat exchangers, each weighing 390 tons, with a height of 23.5 meters and a diameter of 6.85 meters. The first of these was hoisted this time. The project team from the Jiangsu Branch and the Mechanized Division adopted a dual-machine coordinated plan, using a 1600-ton crawler crane as the main hoist and a 400-ton crawler crane as the tail assist, to achieve precise positioning in a single lift.
The 750,000 tons/year propane dehydrogenation unit is the main construction unit of the Zhejiang Yuanjin New Material Alkane Resource Comprehensive Utilization Integration Project (Phase I). The Phase I project plans to invest 11 billion yuan. In addition to two 750,000-ton propane dehydrogenation to propylene units, the project also plans to build three polypropylene units with a total capacity of 1.25 million tons, a 400,000-ton hydrogen peroxide unit, a 300,000-ton direct oxidation method propylene oxide unit, and it will also have a by-product of 80,000 tons of hydrogen.
