Based on the East China region, today’s spot price for water-grade polyester bottle chips closed at 6,665 RMB/ton, up by 50 RMB/ton from the previous trading day, in line with the morning’s expectation.

Crude oil and raw materials remain strong, and polyester bottle chip factories continue to raise their quotations, with an increase of 100-200. The market focus is on a fluctuating upward trend. Today, the enthusiasm of downstream buyers and traders to take over has decreased, and the trading is light. It is heard that March goods were traded at 6570-6700. In terms of basis, the main goods are at a premium of 80-120 for 2605, or a premium of 50 for 2606 (unit: yuan/ton).

Today, the utilization rate of polyester bottle chip capacity reached 68.42%. In terms of profit, the price of raw material PTA increased to 5605, and MEG price rose to 3974. The polymerization cost increased by 75.54 to 6145.99, resulting in a polyester bottle chip profit of -80.98 yuan per ton.

The spot price for water-bottle-grade material in the East China region is expected to range from RMB 6,600 to 6,850 per ton tomorrow.

PTA Market: In the East China PTA market, the price center has risen, with negotiations around 5605. This week and next week, main port deliveries are being traded at a discount of 45-55 to May futures, while deliveries before the end of the month are being negotiated at a discount of 40-45 to May futures. Ongoing geopolitical tensions continue to support strong spot prices, and the spot basis remains firm. Buyers are mostly cautious and observing, leading to moderate market transactions.
